Decree of Eleusis honouring a man from Phyle
I Eleusis 96 Date: 321/0 or 318/7 BC (?)
[The demarch?] Onetor son of Aison proposed:[1] since – of Phyle is a good
man towards the deme of
Eleusis and does whatever good
(5) he can, to praise and
crown him with a gold crown
of five hundred drachmas for his excellence
and love of honour (philotimias) towards
the demesmen of Eleusis; and he shall
(10) have a seat of honour (proedrian) in the
theatre whenever the deme of Eleusis
celebrates the Dionysia; and to inscribe
this decree on a stone stele
and stand it . . . . . .
