Decree 1 (Council) . . . fragmentary line . . . , for good fortune,
the Council shall decide: to
praise Aristomenes son of
(5) Artist- of Paiania for the
excellence (aretēs) [and justice (dikaiosunēs)] which
[he continued to display towards] the
[Council and People] . . .
Decree 2 (Council and People) . . . . . . the presiding committee (proedrous) (10) allotted to preside
at the next
Assembly shall put the matter
on the agenda and submit the
opinion of the Council
(15) to the People that it seems good
to the Council to praise Aristomenes
son of Arist- of
Paiania for the excellence and
justice which he continued
(20) to display towards the Council
and the People and to crown
him with a [gold] crown
according to the law; in order that
there may be [incentive (ephamillon)] for all
(25) citizens to offer themselves . . . . . . according to the
laws . . . . . .
