Akamantis was victorious in the torch-race at the Great Panathenaia in the archonship of Archias (346/5) Xenokles was gymnasiarch.^[1]

Characteristically of gymnasiarchic dedications, this has the form of a stepped base with a round cutting in the top for insertion of a columella. The dedication commemorates victory in the torch-race at the Great Panathenaia. The gymnasiarch was most likely the wealthy and prominent Xenokles son of Xeinis of Sphettos (a deme of Akamantis), on whom see IG II³ 4, 212, with notes.
