[1] This fragmentary rectangular marble base is an early fourth-century choregic dedication, apparently commemorating a victory in the dithyrambic competition at the City Dionysia (cf. IG II³ 4, 460 with notes). It is unclear, however, whether other information about the victory (such as the director, pipe-player or archon) was preserved elsewhere on the monument.
