[1] This is a fourth-century choregic dedication (perhaps a marble base), commemorating a victory in the dithyrambic competition at the City Dionysia (cf. IG II³ 4, 460 with notes). This inscription is known only from a copy made by the eighteenth-century French antiquarian Michele Fourmont, who saw it built into the staircase of a house near the Lysikrates monument (IG II³ 4, 460).
