[1] On the introduction of the “competition-director” (agonothetes) in or shortly before 307/6 BC see IG II³ 4, 518, with notes. Antiphilos (3) has been taken to be a victorious poet in the tragic competition, -genes (4) as a pipe-player or tragic actor, but the inscription is too fragmentary to support confident restoration.
