[1] This is a fourth-century choregic dedication commemorating a victory in the dithyrambic competition at the City Dionysia (cf. IG II³ 4, 460 with notes) or perhaps (if two tribes were restored) the Thargelia (cf. IG II³ 4, 475 with notes). On the upper side, there is a trace of a rectangular hole, perhaps for the attachment of the tripod. The archon might be Kallimachos (349/8), Nikomachos (341/0), or Phrynichos (337/6).
