[1] Textual note AIO translates the Greek text presented by D. Geagan, Πρακτικά τοῦ Η' Διεθνοῦς Συνεδρίου Ἑλληνικῆς καὶ Λατινικῆς Ἐπιγραφικῆς 1982, p. 71 n. 7 and Agora XVIII, but it is very unclear how this text (apparently identical to Agora XVIII 249) corresponds to the stone depicted in the Agora Excavations' photos.

If correctly reconstructed, this is one of several statue bases erected for Julius Caesar by the Athenians (see IG II² 3222 with notes). The formula seems to indicate a date in 48 BC, after his victory at the Battle of Pharsalos on 9 August, but before his reappointment as dictator in October. On top there are two rectangular cuttings for the insertion of the statue.
