[1] This attempt to inscribe these accounts of Pheidias' colossal statue of Athena was abandoned in l. 5, perhaps because the cutter had not left enough space to fit in the figures. The second, more successful, attempt is IG I³ 458. The stone was kept on the acropolis and presumably reused.
