[1] This fragmentary inscription appears on an architrave below a frieze depicting a series of objects related to the Eleusinian Mysteries: a patera, a bushel of grain, a ritual basket, the head of a bull, another patera, a jug, and two initiate's wands (thyrsoi) accompanied by poppies. It was found at Eleusis to the east of the Telesterion. Clinton in I Eleusis suggests linking it with the structure related to the Imperial cult that was erected by Claudius Novius as first high priest of the Augusti ca. 60 AD (I Eleusis 361 with notes).
