[1] This small fragment of a statue base found at Eleusis is likely to have commemorated an emperor, since the name of the honorand precedes the name of the city. Septimius Severus (r. 193-211 AD) is the most likely candidate, though Lucius Verus (r. 161-169 AD) is also possible.
