Glaukos,[1] having mixed an aged spirit with a body in its prime, and with beauty something that is stronger, moderation (sōphrosunēn),[2] displayed to all mankind the light-bringing rites (orgia) of Deo for nine years, and in the tenth he went to the immortals.[3] (5) Verily a beautiful mystery from the blessed ones (makarōn),[4] that death is not only no evil for mortals, but that it is good.[5]
