Athenian soldiers at Eleusis honour the treasurer of the military fund

. . . [1] proposed: since Sosikrates when elected treasurer
of the military fund for the archonship
of Philinos (259/8) is conducting the office in accordance with
the laws and the decrees of the Council
(5) and the People, and continues to be of service
to the citizens stationed at Eleusis both collectively and individually, as far as each asks
of him, for good fortune, the citizens stationed
at Eleusis shall decide: to praise
(10) Sosikrates son of Miltiades of Sphettos and to
crown him with a gold crown according to the
law for his excellence and piety towards
the gods and good will and love of honour (philotimias) towards
themselves, and to announce the crown at the traditional competition
(15) of the Haloia; and to inscribe this decree
on a stone stele and stand it in the sanctuary
in Eleusis, and [the secretary and] those chosen shall manage
the announcement of the crown and the setting up of the stele.
