[1] This might be one of a series of monuments erected in honour of the future emperor Tiberius (r. 14 – 37 AD) before his adoption by Augustus in 4 AD (for whom, see Agora XVIII 253 with notes), but if so the formula is irregular and the erasure is unexplained. It might be better interpreted as a monument for another member of the Claudii Nerones (P. Graindor, Athènes de Tibère à Trajan, 1931, 2 n. 1).
