[1] This fragment comes from a stele dedicated in the Asklepieion on the south slope of the Acropolis (on which, see IG II³ 4, 665). It contained a paian, a type of hymn sung for Apollo and Asklepios (cf. IG II³ 4, 777), which appears to be in elegiac couplets. [2] The father of Harmonia, the wife of Kadmos, is usually Ares (Hesiod, Theogony 933), sometimes Zeus (Diod. Sic. 5.48.2).
