Of Zenon . . . In the archonship of Diokles (286/5), in the first
prytany, of -is, for which Xenophon son of Nikeas
(5) of HalaiIV was secretary. On the eleventh of
Hekatombaion, the eleventh of the prytany.
Assembly. Of the presiding committee Lysias son of Lysimachos
of - was putting to the vote and his fellow presiding committee members.
The Council and People decided. Epicharmos
(10) son of Kallistratides of Kolonai proposed: since
Zenon, put in command of the transport ships (aphraktōn) by king
Ptolemaios, continues to be of good will
to the People collectively and takes care individually
of each Athenian with whom he comes
(15) into contact, both saying and doing whatever good
he can on behalf of the city, and takes care of
the delivery of grain to the People so that
it is delivered with maximum security, making common
cause for the preservation (sōtēriai) of the People, for good fortune,
(20) the Council shall decide: that the
presiding committee (proedrous) allotted to preside in the People
at the next Assembly shall put the matter on the agenda
and submit the opinion of the Council
to the People, that it seems good to the Council . . . . . .
