Citizenship for Artemidoros of Perinthos

[since Artemidoros, enjoying the trust and friendship of king Lysimachos] and despatched by king Lysimachos to the People on embassies . . . . . . to king Lysimachos (5) and the Athenian People, and on returning to the king, at every opportunity . . . whatever good he can on behalf of the People; and he co-operates with the embassies despatched to the king (10) in whatever way they request of him, for good fortune, the Council shall decide: that the presiding committee (proedrous) who presides in the People at the next Assembly shall put the matter on the agenda (15) and submit the opinion of the Council to the People, that it seems good to the Council to praise Artemidoros son of Apollodoros of Perinthos[1] for his excellence and good will to king Lysimachos and to (20) the Athenian People, and to crown him with a gold crown according to the law; and he shall be Athenian, and his descendants, and shall enrol in the tribe and deme and phratry that he wishes (25) according to the law; and the prytany in office in the month of Mounichion shall put the vote about him at the first Assembly, and the court presidents (thesmothetas) shall bring the scrutiny (dokimasian) for him (30) when they fill the public courts, so that there may be competition for everyone to be of service to the People in the knowledge that favours worthy of their benefactions will be delivered; and the prytany secretary (35) shall inscribe this decree on a stone stele and stand it on the acropolis, and for inscribing the stele the board of administrators (tous epi tei dioikēsei) shall allocate the expenditure accrued.
