Honours for the archon Nikias and others

        his fellow presiding committee members. The People decided. -as
        son of Aischylos of S- proposed: concerning the report
        of the archon about the sacrifices which he made to
        (5) Dionysos,[1] for good fortune, the People shall decide:
        that the People shall accept the good things that the
        archon reports occurred in the sacrifices
        that he made for the health and preservation of the Council
        and the Athenian People and the
        (10) crops in the countryside;[2] and since the archon
        has made as many other sacrifices as were proper to him
        on behalf of the Council and People well and
        piously, and has managed the procession
        for Dionysos with his assistants and the
        (15) managers, and continues to manage
        matters concerning his office according to the
        laws, to praise the archon Nikias son of Philon
        of Otryne (266/5) and his assistants,
        Alkimachos son of Kleoboulos of Myrrhinous,
        (20) Antiphanes son of Polykrates of Otryne for the
        piety and love of honour (philotimias) which they continue to have
        for the Athenian People; and to praise
        the managers of the procession,[3] Isandros
        son of Echedemos of Kydathenaion, Mnesitheos
        (25) son of Echedemos of Kydathenaion, Kallitheos son of Boularchos
        of Phlya, Antiphates son of Euthykritos of Azenia,
        Kallaischros son of Diotimos of Pallene, Ameinokles
        son of Antiphanes of Kettos, Hieron son of Pheidyllos
        of Aithalidai, Kallippos son of Hippotherses of Acharnai,
        (30) Polyzelos son of Euenorides of Halai, Theogenes
        son of Poseidonios of Amphitrope; and to praise
        the father of the basket-bearer Kalliphon
        son of Kalliphon of Athmonon; that the prytany secretary
        shall inscribe this decree
        (35) on a stone stele and stand it in the
        precinct (temenei) of Dionysos; and for the inscription and
        making (of the stele) the board of administrators shall allocate
        the expenditure accrued.
