. . . . . . freedom of the [Athenian(?) People] . . . . . . (they) having [good will] towards the People . . . . . . (they) being of service in that . . . . . . for the People the city and the forts (phrouria) . . . (5) . . . (they) competing (agōnizomenoi) whenever . . . on behalf of the [People] . . . . . . those who have participated in the war throughout (sundiapepolemēkotes)[1] and . . . . . . worth, for good fortune, the Council shall decide: that the presiding committee (proedrous) allotted to preside in the People at the next Assembly, when the days set according to the law
have passed, shall put the matter on the agenda, and submit the opinion of the Council
(10) to the People, that it seems good to the Council to praise . . . and
. . . and crown them with a gold crown according to the law; and they shall be
proxenoi and benefactors of the People, both themselves and their descendants; and they shall have
right of ownership (egktēsin) of a house of value no greater than . . . . . . those who have participated in the war throughout (sundiapepolemēkotes) . . . (15) . . . against the . . . . . . and the court presidents (thesmothetas) shall bring
