Equality of taxation for a man of Pergamon

         Gods.
        In the archonship of Antimachos (256/5), in the tenth
        prytany, of HippothontisX, for which Chairigenes son of Chairigenes
        of MyrrhinousV was secretary. On the eleventh
        (5) of Mounichion, the twenty-first of the prytany.
        Principal Assembly. Of the presiding committee - son of
        - of Pallene was putting to the vote and his fellow presiding committee members.
        The Council and People decided. S- son of
        -enes of Probalinthos proposed: since -ias
        (10) continues to be of good will to the Athenian People, and now
        on the occasion of the public subscriptions (epidoseōn) has contributed to the People
        for the protection of the city - medimnoi of barley
        and 200 drachmas of silver;[1] and he declares
        that in the future he will be useful to the People
        (15) as far as he is able, for good fortune, the Council
        shall decide: that the presiding committee (proedrous) allotted to preside
        in the People, when the days set by law have
        passed, shall put the matter on the agenda at the next
        Assembly and submit the opinion of the Council
        (20) to the People, that it seems good to the Council to praise
        -ias son of Akrot-os of Pergamon for his good will
        towards the Council and Athenian People, and
        equality of taxation (isoteleian) shall be granted to him and his descendants,
        the right of ownership (enktēsin) of a house to the value of -; and the
        (25) [court presidents (thesmothetas)] shall submit for him the scrutiny (dokimasian) of the grant
        to the court [when they fill the courts];
        and to inscribe this decree on a stone
        stele and stand it on the [acropolis]; and for the
        [setting up] the administrator (ton epi tēi dioikēsei) shall allocate the
        (30) expenditure accrued.
