[1] This very fragmentary milestone bears two rough inscriptions in Greek. The upper inscription is attributed to Jovian who reigned briefly between June 363 and February 364 AD. The lower inscription is typical of the first half of the fourth century AD and should belong to a period when there were multiple co-emperors. The findspot at Dafni suggests that it originally stood along the Sacred Way between Athens and Eleusis. On milestones, see IG II² 5, 13294 with notes.
