[1] The Aitolians were the first of the Greeks to join the Athenian-led anti-Macedonian alliance after the death of Alexander (Diod. 18.11.1). This inscription perhaps relates to this alliance, but might relate to the Athenian-Aitolian treaty of 306 BC against Kassandros (Paus. 1.26.3).
