Decree of Rhamnous and resident Athenians honouring Telesippos of Cholargos

[1] traces . . . the generals for the countryside who, being honoured, will obtain worthy thanks from both the Rhamnousians and those living in Rhamnous, for good fortune, (5)the Rhamnousians and those citizens living in Rhamnous shall decide: to praise Telesippos son of Timotheos of Cholargos, and crown him with a gold crown for the excellence and [love of honour (philotimias)] which he continues to show towards the Council and People and [that towards] themselves; and inscribe this decree on a stone stele (10)and stand it wherever he sees fit; and for the making of the stele and the inscribing of it choose three men from among themselves to carry out what has been decreed; these were chosen: [Diogeiton] son of Dorotheos of Rhamnous, Me- . . . -les son of Agathon . . .
