Citizenship decree

. . . and his love of honour (philotimias) towards the Athenians; and he shall also be given citizenship, having been scrutinised in accordance with the law; and the court presidents (thesmothetas), when they have filled the courts (5) to five hundred and one jurors, shall introduce his scrutiny working together and put him to the vote; and he shall be enrolled in the tribe and deme and phratry that he wishes; and he shall be permitted also in the (10) time thereafter, on maintaining his preference, to obtain from the Council and the People whatever other benefit he may be deemed worthy of; and the prytany secretary shall inscribe this decree on a stone stele (15) and stand it on the acropolis; and the expense accrued for the inscribing and the [setting up] of the stele shall be allocated by the treasurer of the military fund.[1]
