[1] Groups called “thiasoi” could occur within phratries (cf. IG II² 1237), and it has been suggested that this was such a thiasos. Curbera however (IG II³) makes the more plausible suggestion that it was a thiasos of worshippers of Asklepios and Hygieia, whose major sanctuary in Athens was next to the theatre of Dionysos, where the inscription was found. This would be consistent with the listing of members without patronymics or demotics, which, at this period, is suggestive that they were not citizens. Cf. IG II³ 4, 652. On the year of Antimachos’ archonship see SEG 59.18.
