This decree, apparently of the deme Rhamnous, possibly together with Athenian resident soldiers, and proposed by the same man as I Rhamn. 3 and 4 (and see also I Rhamn. 405, 4-5) appears to have honoured a man who had travelled to Rhamnous from Eretria. Petrakos supposes the context was the honouring of mercenaries. On the deme Rhamnous and its inscriptions in general see I Rhamnous 182.
