[1] The inscription is on the abacus of a rectangular capital decorated with a floral design which has a socket on top for a bronze torch and another on the bottom to secure it to its pilaster. It is part of a series of pilasters commemorating torch races (lampadedromiai) at Rhamnous, on which see IG II³ 4, 317.
