[1] This kioniskos in the British Museum is likely from the Elgin collection (cf. AIUK 4.1, no. 2). On this style of monument see no. 57, with notes. The lettering, with pronounced serifs, places this inscription in the Hellenistic period. One further [Mene]machos, son of Menestratos, of Lamptrai was secretary of the Council in 193/2 BC, and was perhaps a relation (father?) of our Athenodoros (IG II³ 1, 1262). The family deme of Lamptrai was divided into two sites: Upper, at modern Lambrika, and Lower (or Coastal) Lamptrai, between Kitsi and Thiti.
