[1] This is a fourth-century choregic dedication commemorating a victory in the dithyrambic competition, probably, given the findspot (though in secondary use), at the City Dionysia (cf. IG II³ 4, 460 with notes). There is anathyrosis for attaching another block to the left which presumably included the left half of the inscription. Since the left side of the stone is lost, it is not possible to be certain if there was one victorious tribe, as in the City Dionysia, or two as in the Thargelia (cf. IG II³ 4, 475).
