[1] This is a dedication of the prytany of Oineis, which had won the competition for the best prytany in its year in office, cf. IG I³ 515. Another dedication by the prytany of Oineis is IG II³ 4, 56. On the significance of the use of "victory" language in this dedication cf. IG II³ 4, 69, with notes. The location of the tribal sanctuary, where both inscriptions were perhaps set up, is not known, cf. U. Kron, Die zehn attischen Phylenheroen, 1976, 188 and N. F.
