[1] Though they do not seem to belong to the same monument, this dedication may go with the list of names, IG II³ 4, 81 (on this and on the date, see AIO Papers 9, p. 6 (SEG 68.80). This is a dedication of the prytany of Antiochis, which had won the competition for the best prytany in its year in office, cf. IG I³ 515. For other dedications by the prytany of Antiochis see IG II³ 4, 43; IG II³ 4, 60. Three decrees of Antiochis have been found near the shrine of Herakles at Kynosarges in the Ilissos area and it has been assumed that the tribal sanctuary of the hero Antiochos was part of the Herakleion there (see U. Kron, Die zehn attischen Phylenheroen, 1976, 191-92). M.-F. Billot, BCH 116, 1992, 145-54, has argued that the hero’s sanctuary was probably located outside Herakles’ sanctuary albeit in the same area.
