[1] On choregic dedications commemorating victories in competitions staged at deme festivals of Dionysos ("Rural Dionysia") see IG II³ 4, 498, with notes. This one is a small quadrangular base, with cutting in the top for a statue (of Dionysos?), found at Liotrivi, close to the village of Koropi in the Mesogaia. The deme that produced it is uncertain (Oa, Csapo-Wilson, in which case it would be the only evidence for the Rural Dionysia of that deme; Paiania is also possible, cf. IG I³ 250, with notes; and the choregic dedication IG II³ 4, 503). For another inscription found in this area, see AIO 2840.
