[1] This upper section of a funerary stele was among the inscriptions acquired in Athens by Lord Elgin (cf. AIUK 4.1, no. 2). Datable to the late fourth century BC, it commemorates Theophilos, either followed by his patronymic or a further name, and two females (there is space for a further missing name) who might be his daugthers. Euphro is a rare name at Athens, with only one other attestation, in the Imperial period (IG II² 6254).
