Honours for Lapyris of Kleonai

         In the archonship of Kephisodoros (323/2), in the first
        prytany, of HippothontisVIII, for which Archias
        son of Pythodoros was secretary. On the eleventh
        of Hekatombaion, the eleventh; of the prytany.[1] Of the
        (5) presiding committee (proedrōn) Timostratos of - was putting to the vote.
        The People decided. Epiteles son of Soinomos
        of Pergase proposed: concerning what the [head of the delegation (arketheōros)]  to the Nemean Games (Nemea) says and Lapyris the proxenos
        of the city, [for good fortune?] the People shall decide: that the
        (10) head of the delegation (arketheōr-) shall  . . .    . . .  to the  . . .   and Athenians  . . .    . . .  portion  . . .   him the money  . . .   (15) receive [on behalf of?]  . . .   the proxenoi  . . .    . . .  as many  . . .    . . .   who wishes of the Athenians (?)  . . .   (20)  . . .  proxenos  . . .    . . .    . . .    . . .    . . .   (25) [enemies?]  . . .    . . .    . . .    . . .    . . .   (30)  . . .    . . .    . . .    . . .    . . .  and as many  . . .   (35) head of the delegation (arketheōros)  . . .   the delegate (theōron)  . . .  [to?] the proxenoi  . . .   just as Lapyris the proxenos  . . .   and the receivers (apodektas) shall allocate to whoever is in office at any time
        as head of the delegation (arketheōrōi)  . . .   (40) money.
     
        
        
        
         And to praise Lapyris son of Kallias of Kleonai,[2]  the proxenos, and invite him to
        dinner in the city hall (prutaneion) tomorrow;
        and the secretary of the Council shall inscribe this decree
        (45) on or by (eis) the stele on the
        acropolis on which is written
        the proxeny for Echenbrotos of Kleonai, the ancestor of
        Lapyris.[3]
