[1] This fragment derives from one of several statue bases erected by the Athenians for Augustus and his family on Athenian-administered Delos (see I Délos 1588 with notes). It commemorates Augustus' eldest grandson and adopted son Gaius Caesar, on whom see IG II² 3250 with notes. It was found in the sanctuary of Apollo, next to the north wall of the House of the Naxians. [2] On Pammenes, see IG II³ 4, 10 with notes.
