(This statue of) Marcus Ulpius Pupienus Maximus, the mighty, the son of the most brilliant 5 consular, Marcus Ulpius Eubiotos, who was a colleague to his father as one of the court presidents,[1] (was erected by) one who was deemed worthy 10 of nurture and was promoted by his father to rank: Ulpius Elpidephoros, (for) his personal 15 benefactor.[2]
