Bakchios dedicated to Athena Organe^[2] (these) first fruits (aparchēn) having being crowned by the members of the association (thiasōtōn).^[1]

[1] “Thiasos” is a generic term for a cult group and without further evidence we can not pin down its precise character. Bakchios dedicates to commemorate being honoured for his services to it. There is a socket in the top for insertion of a votive. [2] Organe is a variation for Ergane, a common epithet of Athena (cf. Hesych. ο 1006 s.v. Organe). Athena Ergane was a patron of craft and was worshipped on the Acropolis, from where this dedication perhaps derives. Cf. IG II³ 4, 1358, 1369, 1371 etc.; V. Consoli, ASAA 82, 2004, 31-60.
