Honours for -doros son of Kalli-

Crown In the archonship of Archias (346/5), in the eighth prytany, of Hippothontis^VIII, for which Kephisodoros son of Athenophanes of Phlya was secretary. The (5) Council and the People decided. Kallikrates son of Charopides of Lamptrai proposed: since the People resolved that the Council should formulate and bring forward to the People a proposal about (10) -doros son of Kalli- of -, who was elected in charge of . . . ^[1] in the archonship of Themistokles (347/6), for him to be honoured by the People, the Council shall resolve: . . . . . .

[1] In the classical democracy the Assembly occasionally passed decrees honouring native born Athenians who were major military and political figures, typically awarding a statue and other high honours, but no inscribed example survives (the earliest is IG II² 457, honouring Lykourgos in 307/6, q.v.). Decrees were also passed making lesser awards (typically a crown, sometimes with money for a sacrifice and dedication) to officials of the democracy, but they only began to be regularly inscribed in the 340s.
