[1] This very fragmentary inscription is a Roman-period choregic dedication (see IG II³ 4, 558 with notes). The reference to the two goddesses (Demeter and Kore) is most likely part of the title of a priesthood (e.g. pyrphoros or phaidyntes) held by the archon. The names of the sponsor (choregos), director (didaskalos), and pipe player are all partially preserved. The role of Sertorius (l. 4) is uncertain. The inscription must post-date the creation of the tribe of Hadrianis in 121 AD. The letters are aligned in a semi-stoichedon pattern, an archaising feature (cf. IG II² 1071).
