[1] This is a miniature altar made of Pentelic marble. It is not clear from which temple the altar originates. Wycherley suggests that it could have come from either the sanctuary of Artemis in the Kerameikos or the sanctuary of Artemis Amarysia in Kydathenaion (cf. IG I³ 426, ll. 66-68). The altar was found above the north end of the Southeast Stoa (Wycherley, Agora III, 1957, 59). The corner akroteria are broken, and between them, the top is a shallow concave bowl (B.D. Merrit, Hesperia 10, 1941, 64).
