[1] This marble plaque is part of a series of dedications by Athenian archons in the Cave of Apollo on the north face of the Athenian acropolis. For details, see IG II³ 4 128. [2] This might be the archon of AD 104/5 (IG II² 3589, preferred by Traill IG II³ 4, Add.) or the archon of AD 139/40 (IG II² 2044, SEG 31.167), part of a family which produced a large number of eponymous archons and other high officials in the second century AD.
