[1] The sanctuary of Athena Hippia was one of the major sanctuaries of Acharnai, located close to the theatre of Dionysos. See IG II² 1206, with notes, and for other decrees of Acharnai, SEG 21.519, with notes. It was not uncommon for priests and priestesses to make dedications in their own sanctuaries. For an Assembly decree honouring a priestess inter alia for dedications, see IG II³ 1, 1026 (priestess of Athena Polias). [2] This would seem to be the only occurrence in Attic inscriptions of the word κοῖτος, normally "bed" or "stall" (for animals). The very closely related, κοίτη (same word, different gender), does, however, occur in temple inventories, in the meaning "box", "case" (i.e. literally "bedding"), as e.g. IG II² 1408, 14; 1453, 10-11 + SEG 15.122; cf. IG II² 120, 37, 40. Without more context we can not pin down the precise meaning here.
