This fragment apparently contained a prytany catalogue of Hippothontis, arranged in two (?) columns, the bottoms of which are preserved. For the bouleutic quotas see Agora XV 20 (Anakaia, Azenia, Hamaxanteia, Acherdous, Elaious), Agora XV 43 (Anakaia). The date is approximately indicated by prosopography, which can be traced via Traill's edition and Athenian Onomasticon. It is consistent with Tracy's identification of the lettering of this inscription as "Litt. Volg." ca. 345-320 BC. For prytany dedications, see IG I³ 515, with notes. Like other prytany dedications of Hippothontis, it seems this inscription was erected in a central Athenian location, and not at the sanctuary of Hippothoon at Eleusis.
