[1] This kioniskos in the British Museum is part of the Elgin collection (cf. AIUK 4.1, no. 2). On this style of monument see no. 57, with notes. Kallistratos father of Kallimachos from Aixone in a decree honouring ephebes from 197/6 BC (IG II³ 1, 1256, l. 95) is perhaps also father or a relative of our Thalia. There may also be a connection between these two persons and another kioniskos from the Elgin collection, for Kallimachos son of Kallistratos (AIUK 4.6, no. 62). The deme Aixone has been securely identified at modern Glyfada by the discovery of several deme inscriptions (cf. CGRN 57, with notes) and the reports of early travellers.
