Oineis (and) Aiantis were victorious in the boys' competition^[1] Mnesarchides son of Mnesikles of Lakiadai was sponsor (chorēgei),^[2] Eukles was director (edidaske), Alexippos of Argos was pipe-player,^[3] (5)Nikophemos (361/0) was archon.

[1] This marble rounded base is a choregic dedication commemorating a victory in dithyrambic competitions at the Thargelia (cf. IG II³ 4, 475 with notes). Unusually, victory is attributed to the two tribes rather than the sponsor (choregos), cf IG II³ 4, 473. For the verb in the singular form in Thargelia dedications on which the tribes are commemorated as victors, see IG II³ 4, 477. [2] The sponsor is perhaps identifiable with the Mnesarchides son of Mnesarchos of Halai (cf. Davies, APF 10242) who was trierarch before 365 BC (IG II² 1609, ll. 79-80) and before 356/5 (IG II² 1612, l. 364). Cf. Osborne, ZPE 42, 1981, 177-78 (SEG 31.127). [3] On Eukles, see IG II³ 4, 480.
