[ . . . for good fortune, the Council] shall decide [to praise] [the treasurer of the] prytaneis, Menodoros [son of Ar-] [of -, and his] fellow officials in [the Council chamber] (5)[and to crown] him with a foliage crown [and also to allow] the prytaneis of Akamantis [to carry out] the dedication of a painted image (eikonos) of him [in the] [place which they choose so that], when these things are completed, [it may be apparent that the Council] takes [appropriate forethought . . . ]^[1] (10) . . .

[1] This is a prytany decree of the post-Sullan type, in which the Council permits the prytany and the aeisitoi ("those with perpetual dining rights," various magistrates and priests entitled ex officio to dine in the Tholos every night) to make a dedication honouring their treasurer for successful completion of sacrifices on behalf of the community (see SEG 28.95 with notes). "Fellow officials" (synarchontes) of the prytaneis otherwise appear as honorands only in a fragment (Agora XV 305) and in Imperial-period prytany monuments (Agora XV 333, 347, 364, 373, 437, 446), where they seem to be the lower-ranking officials named after the aeisitoi, like the flute-player and the public servant. Menodoros also erected a dedication in his own name commemorating his treasurership (IG II³ 4, 118), which dates his tenure to the archonship of Diodoros (53/2 BC; cf. IG II² 1713, 1716).
