On the arbitration of the Lamians between Athenians and Boeotians

In the archonship of Thersilochos (251/0), in the second
prytany, of -, for which Diodotos son of
Diogeiton of PhrearrhioiVI was secretary. On the
twelfth of Metageitnion, the twelfth of the prytany.
(5) Principal Assembly. Of the presiding committee Pythogenes
son of Glaukippos of Alopeke was putting to the vote
and his fellow presiding committee members.
The Council and People decided.
Kalaides son of Kalaides of Xypete proposed: since
(10) the Athenian People and the confederation (koinou) of Boeotians have made a judicial agreement (sumbolon) with
each other and have chosen as arbiter (ekklēton) the city
of the Lamians to preside (kathiein) over the court,[1] and now those despatched by the
(15) Lamians to the proceedings (dikas) declare . . . uncertain number of lines lost fragmentary line for good fortune, the People shall decide:
that [the presiding committee (proedrous)] allotted for the coming
(20) Assembly shall put the matter on the agenda and
submit the opinion of the Council to the
People, that it seems good to the Council to praise the
city of the Lamians and crown it
with a gold crown according to the law for the good will
(25) that it continues to have for the Athenian People; and to announce the crown
at the competition for new tragedy of the
Great Dionysia and at the athletic contest at the
Great Panathenaia; and [the administrator (ton epi tēi dioikēsei)] (30) shall manage the making of the
crown . . . . . .
