[1] This is part of a fourth-century dedication commemorating a victory in the choral competition at the City Dionysia (cf. IG II³ 4, 460 with notes) or perhaps the Thargelia (cf. IG II³ 4, 475 with notes). On the upper side, there were traces of holes for the attachment of the tripod. For the removal of stones from Athens to Hypata (Thessaly) in the Ottoman period cf. IG II³ 4, 445.
